Apple announced today, 6-6-2022 they are releasing a new M2 (the newest GPU chipset from Apple) MacBook Pro for sale in July. In addition, Apple announced at WWDC, their annual technology conference; they have also announced a new MacBook Air, iPad iOS, and a new iOS Ventura. Also expected are many software updates, including Safari and Apple Mail.

So how does the new MacBook Pro compare to the M1 MacBook Pro?
The most significant difference is the upgraded chipset, and Apple has stated that the M2 chip has 18% better performance overall. The M2 is a specialized GPU that can have up to 10 cores (compared to the M1’s 8) and is 35% better at graphics processing when compared to the M1. This won’t be an extensive upgrade for most people if you just bought a MacBook Pro, but if yours is getting older or you were already considering a MacBook Pro, this could be great news.
